CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. When you join a CSA, you reserve a share of a farm’s harvest for the season. Each week during the growing season, members receive a selection of fresh vegetables that are grown and harvested right here at the farm.
By joining a CSA, you’re supporting your local farmers at the beginning of the season and sharing in the harvest as the crops grow. In return, your family receives fresh, seasonal food and a closer connection to where your food comes from.
A CSA is a great fit for people who enjoy cooking with fresh ingredients and want a steady supply of vegetables throughout the growing season. It’s perfect for people who like eating with the seasons, are open to trying new vegetables, and want to feel more connected to where their food comes from.
If you value fresh, locally grown food and want an easy way to bring healthy ingredients into your kitchen each week, a CSA might be a great option for you and your family.
Our CSA runs for 12 weeks, from June 6 through September 19, and includes a weekly basket of fresh vegetables grown right here at Freckle Farm. Each share contains 5–7 different vegetables, depending on what is in season and ready to harvest. Members can choose between two convenient pickup options: on-farm pickup every Thursday from 4–6 PM, or weekly delivery to First Mile in Fort Kent every Wednesday from 4–6 PM (a delivery fee will apply for the Fort Kent option and will be added to your total). Members also receive a weekly email with information about the vegetables in their basket along with recipe ideas and tips to help make the most of the harvest. Our CSA is a simple way to enjoy fresh, seasonal vegetables all summer long while supporting local agriculture in the St. John Valley.
